Accelerated Access

If you have done your standard licence and can't wait for two years, or you have turned 21 before the end of those 2 years, and want to ride a larger bike of any cc, then this is for you.

You will learn, and take your test on a bike that produces at least 35kw (approx 46bhp). After you pass you are free to ride any capacity bike. The bike that we use is a Kawasaki ER-5.

So what's involved ?

The Accelerated Access follows a similar structure to the Standard & Direct Access licence. The major difference is the increased power of the bike, and the difference in rider style that goes along with that power. And the fact that you may have had your licence for sometime. So we have to get you out of those bad habits you may have picked up.

  1. First we need to see what bad habits you've picked up.

    • Having assessed your riding we will work on those areas the examiner will be looking for.

  2.  Out On The Road.
    • You can already do all this, but you need to do it under test conditions once again.
We will take you out on the 500cc machine. Whilst on the road we will cover basic road skills including the following:

      • Turning at junctions
      • Roundabouts
      • Emergency Stop
      • Turn in the road
      • Out of town riding (riding at 60mph+)
      • Hill Starts

  3.  Practice.
    • This speaks for its self really. The more times something is practiced the easier and better it becomes.

  4.  Test Preparation
    • The time spent with our instructors has been aimed towards making you a safe rider, a safe rider who is also ready for their test. We will go over what the examiner will want from you, and what to expect from the actual test.

When you've satisfactorily completed your Accelerated Access Test you are free to ride any bike your heart desires.
